For this shot, a single leaf was placed on a pile of contrasting leaves. The camera then was moved towards the subject from directly overhead. Using this motion creates a burst effect, where the subjects are splayed out towards the edges. The speed of the camera movement is trial, and error with the instant feedback provided by digital photography being essential.
